Ringo
Home Up John Paul George Ringo

Ringo’s post-Beatles career started out great with the hit "It Don’t Come Easy", which rivaled John and Paul’s post-Beatle hits. But things took a less appealing turn when he wasn’t getting any gigs, and he couldn’t get acting roles; so in 1979 he withdrew from the public eye. In the same year, he got peritonitis, but it wasn't as serious as the last time, when he was a child, and by the end of the month he was well.

In 1980, while working on Caveman, he met his wife Barbara Bach. Unfortunately they had a drug and alcohol problem between them, but it didn’t stop them from getting acting parts. In 1989  Ringo actually got the role of Mr. Conductor on the PBS kids show Shining time station. However at the end of the first season, Ringo was fired because he was drunk in the presence of kids. Fortunately, he managed to sober up and quit drinking doing drugs and smoking, and now at 68 he is healthy as a horse.
