 Help Movie Picture

This film is fun if you’re in the right frame of mind. It is not as good as A Hard Days Night but there are  some people who prefer it.  The eastern characters are stereotypical, but are so obviously made up that it doesn’t fool anybody. I think the main problem with the film is that the Beatles were only loosely related to the rest of the storyline. The two parts, the Beatles plot and the eastern caper, were both quite good separately but didn’t mesh that well, but I still like the film. In my opinion it is Eleanor Bron who saves the film, she makes an otherwise stereotypical character credible and heroic. I've always considered her an underrated talent. Ringo who has the Sacrificial Ring stuck on his finger throughout the film, showed that he could indeed do a starring role in Help. Incidentally I decided to show the Beatles both in their skiing outfits and their beachwear in the Bahamas.
